Eleanor Roosevelt: Follow Your Heart

Eleanor do what's right

I like this quotation, attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt, because it gives me reassurance and a reminder that the only person I truly answer to is myself. If I have been thoughtful about my opinions and values, then I can choose to either defend them or say, without snark or condescension, “We’ll have to agree to disagree.” And that’s okay.

It’s the grownup version of the image below, which I find quite funny and true, but it doesn’t really help when you want to maintain a respectful atmosphere. I still like it though. Mainly because it reminds me that I don’t HAVE to give my opinion just because I have one. If anyone knows the artist, please share!

i don't like it
